Eat, Sleep, Golf, Repeat

What happens when you put a group of creatives, strategists, and social media wizards under one roof for a full week during a PGA TOUR event?

Magic. And a little bit of fun chaos.

For the 2025 Barracuda Championship, the entire KR Squared team moved in…literally. One house, one fridge full of spindrift and protein shakes, with a shared mission: show up big for our client and capture the moments that make this tournament unlike any other. From sunrise content planning to sunset recaps, we lived and breathed Barracuda. And somehow, we’re walking away more inspired than exhausted (okay, maybe slightly more exhausted).

Here’s the thing: loving your work is great. But loving who you work with? That’s the real power play. Whether it was celebrating a surprise 60th birthday for a die-hard golf fan, interviewing Max Homa (yes, that Max Homa), or watching Jess nearly catch a golf ball with her head, we weren’t just checking off to-dos. We were making memories. Inside jokes were born. Group chats got more humorous, and  “family dinner” became a nightly ritual.

Turns out, the work gets a whole lot better when the people get closer. According to a Gallup study, close work friendships boost employee satisfaction by 50%. Even more impressive? People with a best friend at work are seven times more likely to be engaged on the job. That’s not just good vibes, it’s good business. When you trust your team, collaboration is smoother, ideas flow faster, and feedback feels more like a high-five than a red pen. And when you’re all shoulder to shoulder in the same vacation home, you’re not just coworkers, you’re one unit.

But here’s what made the week even more special…our client. The Barracuda Championship crew are some of the most passionate, collaborative, and down-to-earth people we’ve ever worked with. They care deeply about the tournament, the community, and the fan experience. Honestly, their energy is contagious. Working side-by-side with them reminded us that great partnerships aren’t just about deliverables. They’re about mutual respect and shared vision..

We came to Truckee to work. We left with a highlight reel of career highs and incredible friendships. So here’s to loving the hustle, the humans behind it, and the clients who make it all worth it.

And to Jess—next time, maybe a helmet.
