KR Squared lives by a simple mantra: serve others.  As Oprah states, “I've come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that's as unique as a fingerprint — and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service and working hard.” In other words, it’s a calling, and the KR Squad actually receives more than we give.

Recently, we were honored with the Community Contribution Award by the American Advertising Federation at the Ad Persons on the Year Awards! Seriously friends, It was the cherry on top of a hot fudge sundae brought to you by one simple act… service.

But let's rewind a bit. This past year we were involved in some truly life-changing experiences- helping officials raise funds for aerial fire support in the Tahoe region, empowering professional women through Cospire workshops, and helping Clean Up the Lake protect our beloved Tahoe.

But the most powerful experience came from interviewing UCLA's Head and Neck cancer patients who had received terminal reports from other medical centers. Today, these individuals are cancer free! What an indelible experience that makes your heart swell with the utmost in gratitude.

So in the end, the AAF Community Contribution Award is a beautiful reminder that serving others is a two-way street. We may be giving back to the community, but the rewards we receive in return—the connections, the stories, the growth are, well, delicious beyond words. 🍧
