Owning the Room with Confidence
In the early days of KR Squared, it felt like all we did was pitch to rooms full of strangers. Sink or swim, right? There were moments I fumbled, overthought, or second-guessed myself—but those experiences taught me how to keep my head above water. Along the way, I picked up tools, built confidence, and eventually found my rhythm. Now, I’m sharing a few tricks I’ve learned to help you step into any room and own it like a pro.
1. Prepare Like You Mean It
Confidence starts before you ever arrive. Research the people you’ll meet, know your purpose, and be crystal clear on what you bring to the table. It’s much easier to shine when you’ve done your homework.
2. Your Posture Is Your Power
The way you carry yourself speaks volumes. Shoulders back, chin up, and make eye contact. Before a big moment, I love a good “power pose”—two minutes standing tall with hands on hips like Wonder Woman can do miraculous things for channeling confidence. Sometimes I do this in a bathroom stall before a meeting. Seriously, it works!
3. Shift the Spotlight
It’s not about perfection; it’s about connection. When I stopped worrying about how I looked or sounded and started focusing on others—asking thoughtful questions, really listening—that’s when my confidence grew.
4. Own Your Voice
You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room, but speaking clearly and with intention makes a difference. Pausing isn’t weakness—it’s presence.
Confidence is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it gets. Show up, be yourself, and trust that you’ve got this. ‘Cause you do.
